Sperm Freezing

In many situations it is appropriate to store sperm.  Sperm freezing is a very successful process, with pregnancy rates very similar to those obtained with fresh sperm.  For our patients some of these reasons may include: 

  • men undergiong testicular or sperm aspiration procedure (such as following a vasectomy)
  • in the case of cancer diagnosis
  • prior to a vasectomy

Anonymous donor sperm is also routinely frozen before use.

All sperm is frozen in small aliquoted straw which can be thawed out one or two at a time, for any ART cycle.
