IVF Sunshine Coast is pleased to announce the opening of our new facility – IVF Caboolture. The outstanding growth of IVF Sunshine Coast along with the longstanding interest in infertility of local O&G’s Dr Mahilal Ratnapala and Dr Pravin Kasan has facilitated this expansion to provide treatment for the couples of the Caboolture, Redcliffe and surrounding areas. As always, our aim is to deliver as many healthy babies as possible.
IVF Caboolture has five fertility specialists comprising of Dr Mahilal Ratnapala, Dr Pravin Kasan, Dr James Moir (Clinical Director), Dr Petra Ladwig and Dr Jeff Tarr. Both Dr Ratnapala and Dr Kasan are O&G’s local to the area and well placed to further develop their IVF interests. Sr Karen McGill is our IVF Nurse Manager, experienced in all aspects of IVF.
As with our IVF Sunshine Coast clinic, IVF Caboolture offers all patients a complimentary consultation with Karen. This consultation will discuss medical processes, medications, risks and costs involved, enabling the patient to make a fully informed decision.

For many social reasons, women are delaying childbirth. In the past this may have meant increased difficulty in conceiving as the likelihood of a woman conceiving in her late 30's or early 40's is dramatically lower than in her late 20's and early 30's. In addition to this, the incidence of both subtle and obvious chromosomal abnormalities also rises very significantly for women in their late 30's and 40's.
While egg freezing is relatively new technology, the awareness of egg freezing is dramatically increasing in the general public arena. As more women become aware of this option, the demand for this service is increasing.
We encourage you to review our treatment section “Egg Freezing” for more detailed information on this process. If you would like to talk to one of our IVF Nurses, please call on (07) 5493 7133 for an appointment.
PGD is another service offered by IVF Sunshine Coast that uses relatively new technology. PGD simply enables screening of embryos before implanting in the uterus. It can be used to screen for single gene disorders, translocations and more common chromosomal abnormalities such as Down Syndrome. It is useful in situations where there is a known history of genetic problems.
We encourage you to review our treatment section “Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis” for more detailed information on this process. If you would like to talk to one of our IVF Nurses or IVF Scientists, please call on (07) 5493 7133 for an appointment.
